BJP National General Secretary Ram Lal said, “Along with the membership drive, BJP has to become omnipotent and it should be ensured that the party gets in touch with all sections of the society. We must focus on those sections of the society where we need to work more.” Talking about BJP’s landslide victory in Lok Sabha elections, Ram Lal added that the party received overwhelming response from poor people, new voters and beneficiaries, hence they should be contacted and connected with the party. There should be no hiccups in meeting any section of the society. Madhya Pradesh should be number one state in membership drive across the country.

Ram Lal expressed his views while addressing party’s State-level meeting on membership drive in the State capital on Sunday. Former Chief Minister and BJP National Vice-President Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that the party feels that BJP’s best performance is yet to come. The best will come when BJP will be able to form government in Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Odisha and West Bengal and after the party flag is unfurled in Kashmir valley. “Membership drive in 2015 played a pivotal role in party’s historic victory in Lok Sabha elections,” he added.

He stressed that no section of the society shall remain untouched with the party’s membership drive. BJP State President Rakesh Singh said, “We have to reach till the last person of the society living in remotest place and make them a party member during the membership drive to start from July 6.” He said membership drive will be completed in two phases. BJP State Organisational General Secretary Suhas Bhagat said that the membership drive has to be conducted by seeing party’s performance in Lok Sabha elections. It has to be looked upon that party lagged behind in which mandals, Gram Kendras and booths. “Special plan should be made for such weak Mandals, Gram Kendras and booths,” he emphasised. On the occasion, Union Ministers Thawarchand Gehlot, Prahlad Patel, Faggan Singh Kulaste, Leader of Opposition Gopal Bhargava, Arvind Bhadoriya, Jyoti Dhurve and others were also present.
