Cops crack farmer’s murder case

Blind murder mystery of one 85 year old farmer whose blood drenched body was found on 19.6.2019, has been finally resolved. Four accused in the murder have been apprehended by police. The cause behind murder as it has been revealed is that the four accused who invaded the house of the old farmer with the intention to steal moong were seen by the deceased. The four accused fearing action of being seen by the old man killed the man by tying both his legs and strangulated him. They covering the face by towel. The success for police was enunciated by SP Amit Singh in press conference called upon at Police Control Room on Sunday.
 
About the gruesome murder of old farmer, it is informed that, on 19.6.2019, at village Pathora, falling under Patan police station, sensation prevailed after the man was found lying dead in the courtyard of the house. The son of the deceased named as Pravesh Kumar Chaudhary(51), who lodged complaint, had stated that, his father Badri Prasad used to stay in the village alone for many years, having farming land in the village. On June 19, Gatha Sharma informed about his father lying in the courtyard both arms and legs tied with injuries on other parts of the body.
 
 
The appellant suspected that, his father was killed by some unidentified miscreant, who invaded his home to steal foodgrain dumped in the house. It was speculated that the miscreants invaded the house in between 18.6.2019 around 11.00 pm to 19.6.2019 7.00 am. Also, that valuables were found stolen from the house. On being informed, cops reached the spot along with FSL team, carried out investigations, made panchnama in presence of FSL team and the body was send for autopsy to Medical College and Hospital. The autopsy report revealed that the death of the old man took place due to clotting of blood on head having suffered head injury. Accordingly, a case under Section 499,302 of IPC was registered followed by investigations. In course of investigations, it came to fore that, some 7-8 years ago, Kanchedilal Gaund had invaded the house of the old man to steal and was caught by the family members and later released after he asked for forgiveness.
 
Having obtained the old history of theft from the house of the deceased, cops swung into action and rounded up the old miscreant Kanchedi. Brought to police station, he revealed that, he worked as a labourer and was faced with hand to mouth situation with earning of Rs 150 per day. He came to learn that Pravesh Chaudhary, son of the deceased, along with other family members, had left for Jabalpur city. Also, that some 50 bags of moong were being dumped in the house. Faced with acute financial crisis, he decided to get hold of the 50 bags of moong so that he would sell it and obtain money. He told police, having sensed the man living alone at home, he sought help from his fellow associates named as Deepak Gaund, Hakla Gaund and Rakesh Lodhi to steal 50 bags of moong dumped in the house of old farmer. On 19.6.2019, around 3.00 am, he, along with his three fellow associates, made unlawful entry with the intention to steal the 50 bags of grains.
 
By the time the miscreants started lifting the grain bags, the old man woke up and found them carrying the grain bags. The old man, having recognised Kanchedilal Gaund, who attempted to steal foodgrain 7-8 years ago, attempted to scream for help. Before the old man could shout for help, the miscreants managed to get hold of the man, covered the face with towel, tied his arms and legs and took him out of the house and crushed the head with stone beneath berry tree and attacked the man vehemently at various parts of the body. Due to several injuries, the man succumbed as the four accused left the spot. In view of confession by Kanchedilal Gaund, cops carried out search of three of his associates, who were summarily arrested. The stone used to hit on head, bamboo stick and clothes worn by four accused have been seized from the said location.
 
It has been established that the old man aged around 85 years, was killed because he identified Kanchedilal Gaund, who had attempted theft 7-8 years ago. The police team succeeded in cracking the blind murder and arrested the four accused. The team comprised SHO Patan Shivraj Singh, PSI Dharmendra Sharma, PSI MD Ahirwar, SI Arti Mandloi, Pratap Mukesh Thakur, Abhishek Kaurav Mukesh Patel, Dinesh Meena and others. SP Jabalpur has announced cash reward for the police team.
