Four prisoners escape from Neemuch jail n Jailer, Assistant Jailer, three constables suspended

FOUR prisoners escaped from Neemuch jail by scaling the wall during wee hours of Sunday. Following the incident, Jailer, Assistant Jailer and three constables have been suspended with immediate effect. Neemuch Police Control Room told ‘The Hitavada’ that accused have been identified as Nar Singh (20), Dubey Lal Dhruve (19), Pankaj Mongia (21) and Lekhram (29). A senior officer of Jail Department also informed ‘The Hitavada’ that the accused were lodged in the same cell of Neemuch jail. They first cut the bars of their cell and then they scaled the wall of jail with help of a rope which was fastened with an electric pole.
 
The tool with which they cut the bars of their cell has been recovered. “An outsider helped the accused sneak out of the jail. This unknown person threw the rope inside the jail by fastening the other end with an electric pole. It is also being probed that how the prisoners got the tool using which the bars were cut,” added sources in the Jail Department. Director General for Jail, Sanjay Choudhary, when contacted, told ‘The Hitavada’ that Jailer R K Vasuniya, Assistant Jailer and three constables have been suspended following the jail break incident. Apart from this, cash reward of Rs 50,000 has been declared on each accused.
 
Meantime, ADG Jail Sudhir Sahi went to Neemuch and started administrative investigations into the case. It is being said that one of the accused is a rape convict and two were convicted under NDPS Act. A massive hunt has been launched to arrest the absconding accused and all the neighbouring places have been alerted by the police as a precautionary measure.
