Strike by JNAU students shows no sign of ending

Ongoing indefinite strike of agriculture students of State Agriculture Universities against the proposed admission of private university students in State Agriculture Universities’ (SAUs) PG and PhD courses continued on Sunday. Students took out effigy of Agriculture Minister, Government of Madhya Pradesh on a donkey at JNAU premises. Coordinator, Prashant Singh Kaurav informed that, aggrieved agriculture students across the State expedited the protest against admission of private university agriculture students in PG courses. He added that, in Gwalior, RMSAU students took out mock funeral procession of Chief Minister, Kamal Nath, while at Indore, college students staged road blockade against police, used force on students on strike.
 
In Mandsaur Horticulture College, Pawarkheda College, Sihora College, Khandwa Agriculture College, Tikamgarh Agriculture College, the students staged college lock-out protest and demonstration. The students declared that, till the demand of students is not fulfilled, the strike of students would be continued. If the Government would not agree to their justified demands, then students would go to villages and make farmers aware about their demands. - The students strongly criticised the Congress Government in the State for making false promises of agriculture development and growth.
 
The Government came to power by making false promise of agriculture loan waiver to farmers and now, started its actual agenda of destroying fastest growing sector of the State by tampering its basic strength, research and education. The students declared that, till their demands are not fulfilled, the agriculture students would put stop to research, extension and academic activities in the State.
