Television actor Rajveer Singh, who has been seen in Star Plus show ‘Kya Qusoor Hai Amla Ka’ and ‘Ishq Kills’, besides have also been part of recent film ‘De De Pyaar De’ is currently receiving love of audiences in show ‘Sufiyana Pyaar Mera’. The actor is playing main lead in role of Zaroon. He is happy and satisfied as it is something different from his past roles. During his visit to the City of Lakes, Rajveer shared about the show and his character “My character Zaroon is really interesting and intense.

Earlier, I played a silent role where I had to do many acts but there was not so much to improvise in my character. Here, I am enjoying more. The story line is quite different from the other romantic sagas. This story is not alike kitchen drama so I liked the concept more.” Rajveer, who hails from Bahadurgarh, Haryana, says on struggle for actors that “Struggle in itself is a word which is when heard a person feels bounded. I do not relate to this word. It was not actually struggle for me to reach here but my hard work. I was positive that I will achieve my goal. I did engineering from New Delhi and as I did not have interest in college, so I joined theatre.

I tried three years for National School of Drama (NSD) but failed. But I am fortunate that Ram Gopal Bajaj, who was director of NSD is with me in the show. I am fortunate to share screen with him. I did theatre for around five years, including two in New Delhi and three in Mumbai. Everyone wants to be a Hero in life and the same was in me when I used to watch Bollywood films. My mother supported me a lot in shaping my career. I worked with MTV, Yash Raj films, Optimistic, etc, did ad film, and serials too.” “I admire theatre artist Peter O’Toole in Hollywood, who is legendary actor, while in Bollywood there are so many like Naseer Saab and others.

As far as significance of theatre is concerned so if you want to be a singer, you have to do riyas, when you want to be painter you should have knowledge of colours, same goes with acting, many people does not know about acting. Only good looks and little bit of acting cannot make you an actor”, he added. When asked on nepotism, Rajeev said “I do not want to say anything on this issue instead I would talk about talent. If there is talent in a person, nobody can stop him to achieve his goal. The celebrity background does not matters much, what matters is talent and work.

A step can be given but person has to step it by his own. There are best examples like Pankaj Tripathi, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Sushant Singh Rajpoot, Ayushman Khurana, etc. So work on your talent and give the best of you.” He says further “I have done four films so far where first one was Zindagi on the rocks which never released, Tezaab 2 where I was main lead which would be released soon, another was Mr Kabadi which did not work well and recent one was De De Pyaar De. Everyone has desire of doing films. Both are different mediums and gives diverse experience and fame. Some gains name by television the other by movies. I want to play a sports person role in future which could be referred as my dream role.”
