Survey to know utility of BRTS corridor soon: Jaivardhan Singh

Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS) corridor remains to be a thorny issue owing to increasing accident cases. Now, the State Government is seriously contemplating to check its utility and to see that whether it is necessary to demolish it. To reach till any conclusion, Government has decided to take the help of an expert. Addressing the press conference, Urban Administration and Development Minister Jaivardhan Singh told that help of Central Road Research Institute’s Senior Scientist S Velmurugan has been sought and he took stock of BRTS corridor on Tuesday.
 
Now, he will carry out survey till four months and will submit the detail survey report. Notably, Delhi BRTS corridor was demolition of Delhi BRTS corridor. Talking about accident happening in BRTS corridor, he told that Bairagarh BRTS has many shortcomings. Normally, when there is traffic jam and BRTS corridor lies empty then people becomes little bit worried. He, however, ducked the question that whether BRTS corridor will be demolished by saying that any decision would be taken after coming of survey report. In the meantime, he opined that if school buses want then they may use the BRTS corridor for transit purpose and there would be no stoppage for them in BRTS corridor.
 
Answering to a question, he told that cameras needed to be fitted at BRTS corridor so that speed and other things could be checked. He further told that under Amrit Scheme, there is shortcoming in one form or the other in every municipal corporation. Hence, roadmap is needed for hassle free water supply. CM has directed that water audit should be done in local bodies. After detail water audit, loopholes in water supply chain will be plucked up.
 
 
He also spoke about Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and told that so far many problems have been encountered in implementation of scheme. Hardly 10 per cent houses have been constructed against the sanctioned houses. Hence, CM has decided to go for survey to know that how who are those who did not get patta of their land and thus get deprived of scheme. He also said that parts of Upper Lake are under the grip of encroachment and they needs to be made free from encroachment. Hence, he has spoken to Divisional Commissioner and Collector in this regard. He also informed that his department is going to introduce e-vehicle policy under which electric buses would run in cities like Bhopal, Indore etc
