Collector seeks details of facilities at Elgin Hospital

Collector Bharat Yadav sought details about health facilities available for patients at Rani Durgavati Hospital (Elgin) during his surprise inspection conducted on Wednesday. During surprise inspection, Collector Yadav visited different wards in the hospital and gave significant suggestions to the medical officers to further improve medical facilities there. He expressed satisfaction over cleanliness maintained in the campus and asked the doctors about pathology tests available in the hospital lab. He further asked to display the list of the available tests. To make the hospital's OPD more systematic and organized, Yadav directed to divide it in two parts to avoid uncontrolled footfall at one place.
 
While inspecting medicine distribution center of the hospital, he sought the list of available medicines. At Vaccination Room, he asked about different vaccinations being administered among pregnant women and infants and emphasized over the need of proper monitoring and follow-up after vaccination. While interacting with doctors and para-medical staff deployed in the hospital, Collector, Yadav instructed them to ensure regular presence to offer better treatment among patients and pregnant women arriving the premises.
 
He called the attendance register to check the presence of doctors and employees posted in the hospital. He further asked to change the coolers-fans, bulbs and tubelights which remained in unfunctional condition and to increase the number of dustbins in the wards. He directed to change the bed-sheets daily. He asked about hospital's requirement in wake of National Quality Assurance Standard and directed to prepare proposal for installation of laundry machine for washing dirty clothes and bedsheets in the hospital.
 
He also asked to fulfill all formalities for additional water connection from Jabalpur Municipal Corporation and to prepare a proposal for construction of an over-head water tank to get rid of water scarcity in the campus. While visiting paying wards, he directed to prepare proposal for construction of additional paying wards through Public Work Department. He asked the concerned officers to ensure fund allotment under the heads of Janbhagidari Yojana and Disdtrict Mining Fund in case departmental fund is not available. He further asked to use a part of Ren Basera for installation of laundry machine. Superintendent, Rani Durgavati Hospital, Dr Khare and RMO, Dr Sanjay Mishra accompanied the Collector during his visit.
