Jabalpur police succeeding in nabbing youths involved in stabbing and attempt to murder on Probationary Sub Inspector (PSI) posted in Police Lines Jabalpur, Arun Pal Singh. PSI Singh was attacked by three youths near Sharada Chowk under the jurisdiction of Garha police station on June 22. The accused have been identified as Sanjau Thakur, Anshu alias Aniket Dahayat and a minor boys, informed Sanjeev Uikey, Additional Superintendent of Police (South), while addressing the press conference, on Thursday.

 

 

He informed that, the incident took place on June 22 around 1.45 am near Sharda Chowk when PSI Arun Pal Singh was returning his home after attending a programme at his friend Rahul Parmar’s residence in Gupteshwar. When he reached Sharda Chowk, he found that, three youths were fighting. Singh stopped his motorcycle and tried to stop the youths. But instead of responding to him, they started argument with PSI Singh and one of them attacked him with a sharp-edged knife and injured his neck, stomach and back. Following lethal injuries, PSI Singh fell down bleeding profusely. (Contd on page 4)Meanwhile, the three managed to flee from the spot on an Access scooter.

 

 

The injured Arun Pal Singh was rushed to hospital for treatment by an autorickshaw passing from the point. Receiving the information, SHO, Rafique Khan, CSP, Garha, Amit Tolani (IPS), CSP Kotwali, Deepak Mishra, CSP Cantt, Akhil Verma reached Medical College and apprised the senior officials about the incident. On the complaint of Arun Pal Singh against three youths, a case under Section 307 and 34 of IPC was registered and case taken for investigation. SP Amit Singh (IPS) had taken the incident seriously and instructed to ensure arrest of youths at the earliest.

 

 

In search operation, all possible spots were raided by the special team comprising Additional SP, Sanjeev Uikey, CSP Amit Tolani (IPS) and SHO, Shafique Khan. Meanwhile, on the tip off from a reliable informer, a raid was conducted near KBN Chowk in Shakti Nagar. In this raid, accused Sanjay Thakur, Anshu alias Aniket Dahayaat and a minor of 17 years of age were apprehended by Garha Police. In interrogation as revealed by accused, the vehicle Access scooter MP 20 SQ 4104 and knife used in incident were recovered. Shafique Khan, SHO Garha, SI, Sajjan Singh, Constable Ashok Sharada, Neeraj, Rameshwar played active role.
