A NEW Raipur-Prayagraj direct flight service was started on Friday. Raipur is now connected to 13 cities through non-stop flights. Airport authorities greeted the first passenger of the Raipur-Prayagraj flight, Colonel Siddique with flowers and gift before handing him the boarding pass.

 

 

The first flight from Prayagraj was welcomed with water canon as it landed in Swami Vivekananda Airport at 11:45 am and each passenger was gifted a book on Swami Vivekananda. The flight was off to a great start as the first flight from Prayagraj to Raipur landed with 60 passengers whereas the flight from Raipur to Prayagraj took off with full capacity of 74 passengers, indicating the immense potential on this route. Since Chhattisgarh is now connected to Eastern Uttar Pradesh, frequent travellers were particularly delighted. Even the trade bodies such as CII, Tourism Operators and FICCI expressed pleasure as the flight will boost tourism.
