Protests and dharnas for water by residents of several parts of the city have become a regular feature in the peak of summer season, as the civic body has failed to supply water on regular basis to these areas for past one month.
A day after residents of Suraj Nagar, fed up of the laxity of the authorities concerned have resorted to blocking road on Thursday, the residents of Kolar who were also annoyed with the poor water supply too staged protest by staging chakka jam here on Monday.

The locals alleged that the BMC officials, as usual, are just paying lip service to the needs of the people. There is severe water crisis in Kolar to which the corporation has always turned a blind eye.
The people of Kolar are facing acute water problem in their area respectively, they had made several attempt to meet the Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC)’s Commissioner B Vijay Datta to solve the problem and also to the district administration.

The locals blocked Sarvadharam road on Monday morning around 9:30 which continued for more than two hours. Without informing the administration, the people of Kolar staged the chakka jam. The jam extended to 4 kilometres on both the sides. As this is the peak time when people rush to their offices therefore they remained stranded in the traffic jam for around two hours. Notably, earlier the BMC formed the project to supply the water from Kerwa dam, but it failed to some extent.
