Water crisis deepens, 20 cities getting supply after two days

There is no end of problems for people living in water scarcity hit areas of Madhya Pradesh. They are getting water after a gap of two to three days. Even State Government is helpless in meeting the demand and is looking forward for the onset of monsoon to get rid of the complex problem. The information obtained from Urban Administration Development Department states that out of 358 local bodies, daily water supply is in only 258 local bodies.
 
As many as 99 local bodies are getting water supply after a gap of one day. Twenty local bodies are getting water supply after a gap of two days. The local bodies are Jhabua, Ratibad, Meghnagar, Ratanpur, Rajgarh, Gautampura (Indore), Sushner, Hatpipaliya (Dewas), Tarana, Sehore, Katni, Ichawar, Betul, Amla, Multai, Sonkutch, Ashta etc. Besides, Pandhurna which is getting water supply after a gap of three days. Urban Administration Department is looking forward for the onset of pre-monsoon activities and arrival of monsoon to overcome the crisis. Weather conditions are also seemingly more or less tilting in favour of pre-monsoon activities. Seeing the clouds hovering in sky, Urban Administration Department is hopeful that within ten to fifteen days monsoon activities will start and water situation will improve across the State.
 
Now water problem in scarcity hit areas is only of numbered days. The people living in water crisis hit areas have to store water and use it wisely to ward off water related problems. Talking to ‘The Hitavada’, Executive Engineer of Urban Administration Department told that this time, water management was far better than the last time. This helped in mitigating the water problem in a well-organised manner. Now, wait is for the arrival of monsoon which would subside the water problem.
