MHT-CET result: Siddhesh of Amravati stands 2nd topper in State

Siddhesh Agrawal from Amravati is on cloud nine and has every reason to cheer. He is a second topper in State in Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MHT-CET-2019) examination conducted by The State Common Entrance Cell of Maharashtra. He scored 99.98 percentile. Gaurav Wasnik of Nagpur’s Dr Ambedkar College, Deekshabhoomi scored 99.949 percentile and stood topper in State in PCM group in the category of Scheduled Caste. Result were declared on Tuesday. Siddhesh Agrawal has shared the second position with Kimaya Shikarkhane from Mumbai with 99.98 percent marks.
 
The State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra, declared the results of Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test 2019 (MHT-CET) on its official website on Tuesday. Jubilant Siddhesh maintained consistency in his studies. He appealed to students to study with proper planning and total concentration to achieve success in it. Siddhesh who was HSC (Computer Science) student from Brijlal Biyani Science College, Amravati, had scored 87 percent marks in the recently declared Maharashrta State Board examination result.
 
He had scored 2120 All India Ranking in JEE main exam. He has also appeared for JEE Advance exam and its result is expected on June 14. Siddhesh came from a middle class family. His elder sister is doing engineering from Government College of Engineering here. Shubham Kalantry of St Paul School stood second topper with the score of 99.91 percentile in PCM group. Sahil Girhepunje scoring 99.9015 percentile in the PCM Group 1st Topper in OBC. Vedansh Sanghi of St Paul School tops in PCB with the score of 99.89 percentile. Ankita Patil with the score of 99.52 percentile stood topper in girls in State in PCB. She is the student of Dr Ambedkar College, Deekshabhoomi.
 
The Maharashtra Common Entrance Test Cell has conducted MHT-CET exam-2019 entrance test exam for admissions to Engineering, Pharmacy and Agriculture colleges. Total of 4,13,284 students had enrolled for the exam out of which 3,92,354 appeared. Total 2,76,166 students appeared for the examination from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics group while 2,81,154 appeared from Physics, Chemistry and Biology group. The candidates who have appeared for the MHT CET 2019 examination can visit the official website of MHCET- mhtcet2019.mahaonline.gov.in- to obtain their scorecard.
 
Driver of excavator held Prithviraj Manoharrao Jadhav (21), a resident of Quarter No 5/2, Housing Board Colony, Raghuji Nagar, were killed on the spot. Injured Shubham Gunwantrao Wagh (22), a resident of Adivasi Colony, was rushed to the hospital. Initially, Kalamna Police had registered an offence under Sections 279, 304(A) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), read with Sections 134, 177 and 119 of Motor Vehicle Act, against Shahu. Later, cops added Section 304 (Culpable homicide not amounting to murder) of the IPC in the FIR. Police then nabbed Shahu and was taken into custody. City Police Chief Dr Bhushan Kumar Upadhyay said, “We have taken a policy decision that if any vehicle is driven from wrong side of the road and causes death of any person (s), then police will register an offence of culpable homicide not amount of murder against its driver.” In the instant case, it was not a sheer rash and negligent driving by the driver but he knowingly did an act that resulted in death of the two youths.
