NEET: Akola’s Disha is probable State topper among girls

Disha Sameer Agrawal, a student of Adarsh Junior College, Akola stood first among girls in Maharashtra in National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) examination conducted last month. Result of the NEET was declared on Wednesday. Disha scored 685 marks out of 700. Her All India Rank (AIR) is 45 and third from the State.
 
However, she is first from Open Category girls in Maharashtra. Disha’s percentile is 99.99. Nagpur’s St. Paul Science and Commerce Junior College students excelled in NEET as three students of the institute secured first three positions from Nagpur. Karan Agrawal scored 670 marks with 262 All India Rank (AIR), Aniruddha Jadhao with 650 marks secured 1,007th AIR and Vaishnavi Rokde scored 638 marks with AIR 1,867. Rashmi Bisen of Dr Ambedkar College, Deekshabhoomi scored 636 marks in NEET 2019 and her OBC category rank is 596. Abhishek Ganorkar got 623marks. Disha has achieved success in Kishor Vidnyanik Protsahan Yojana.
 
She had taken the Olymipad in Physics, Chemistry and Biology and has passed the first stage. In HSC exam Disha scored 94.23% marks. Disha’s grandfather is a medical practitioner while her elder brother is a medical students. Dr Nitendra Oke who coached her for the NEET exam told that 2,06,745 students from the state took the examination out of them 81,171 passed it. Dr Oke has asked the NEET qualified students to opt for colleges in states other than Maharashtra or go for 15% seats in Maharashtra. This will make more seats free for students in the State.
