Youth must assist villagers in devpt works, says Governor Patel

Governor Anandiben Patel has said that the youth should visit villages and contribute towards development. She called upon the youth to motivate rural people for change. Patel was addressing youth felicitation function of Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) in Raj Bhavan on Thursday. She said that there is a lot of talent and skill in rural people.
 
The need is to inspire and encourage their participation in development works. Governor said that Nehru Yuva Kendra should work in rural areas with result-based work plan. Every child in the village should go to school and it should be ensured that there is no dropout of girls in the 9th grade. Special attention should be given to the health of girls who are mothers-to-be. She informed that a hameogolobin test campaign for girls was launched and health examination of 1.5 lakh girls was conducted, the centre must help in expanding it. She said that the smallest help given on time to the youth can be very beneficial for the needy. The help of woolen clothes to a small child can save him from serious illness and treatment expenses. Similarly, the work of energy, water and environment conservation is also the beginning of big change. She said that the need is to make efforts for change.
 
Govt has run many schemes and programmes for rural development and public welfare. The need is to ensure that it reaches the beneficiary. By creating self-help groups, women can get financial self-sufficiency. The Governor gave away awards on behalf of the Nehru Yuva Kendra to the Water and Land Management Institute, Bhopal for excellent work in the field of conservation and promotion of natural resources, to Commissioner CGST Pramod Agrawal and his associate Nitu Pandey for support in the cleanliness campaign of Mahatma Gandhi’s 150th jayanti in Adarsh Gram in 2018-19, state level best Yuva Mandal award to Hadvasi Yuva Mandal, Morena, first Summer Internship award to Swami Vivekanand Dhamaka Yuva Mandal Mandla, Arvind Kushwaha Gwalior and Mithilesh Tomar, Morena, first prize in state level elocution contest to Tuva Hayat Khan of Chhindwara, Swati Baredia of Bhopal, Kanishka Mishra of Jabalpur and State-level Yuva Sansad award to Shubham Chouhan, Raisen. State Director of Nehru Yuva Kendra TN Mishra gave the welcome address while convener Surendra Shukla proposed the vote of thanks.
