Astika Majgauri wants to pursue Arts and Music

ASTIKA Majgauri, the probable topper among the disabled, has secured 85.40 per cent in the SSC. The only daughter of Dhirendra and Kunda is visually-impaired since birth. By securing very high marks, she has kindled ray of hope for her parents. She has secured 73 marks in English, 79 in Hindi-Sanskrit, 84 in Marathi, 87 in Arithmatics, 82 in Science and 80 in Social Sciences.
 
Astika is a student of B R Mundle School, and wrote examination through English medium. “I am satisfied with my score and want to pursue Arts with Music as a subject,” Astika said. Astika has passed Visharad in vocal classical music and has won several prizes in singing.
 
She also likes to be close to the nature. Her father Dhirendra is a Government Contractor and mother Kunda is a house wife. Being our single child we are giving her all support and care, said Kunda. She stated that they had arranged home tutor for Astika. “We had also taken special permission from school to leave one hour early, so that she is not exhausted. She had made us proud by putting her 100 per cent efforts.
