Multi-faceted Maitreyee stands tall among toppers

President of India Award, National Child Award, Savitribai Fule National Fellowship, National Kalabhushan Award, Maharashtra Bhushan, Vidarbha Ratna and many others. Yes. These are some of the achievements of Maitreyee Ghanote. Overall, she has bagged over 450 awards in different fields. Securing 99.2% marks (including external marks) in SSC Board exam is another achievement, best suited to her bouquet of achievements. Maitreyee, a student of Tejaswini Vidya Mandir, managed to win all these awards against all odds. Maitreyee won 450 different awards in various activities.
 
The 16-year-old girl performed well in Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) Class X examination by securing 99.2% marks. Maitreyee received the President Award in 2010 at the hands Pratibha Patil for her multifaceted talent. She was the first girl in India who delivered speech at Rashtrapati Bhavan. Maitreyee is a talented dancer, singer, anchor, painter, orator, keyboard player, sportsperson and so on. After all this, she believes that extra-curricular activities are part of her life and handles them besides academics efficiently. Maitreyee secured 486 marks out of 500 (best five) and additional 10 marks for sports activities.
 
This took her to the top position in merit list. She got 89 in English, 100 in Sanskrit, 95 in Marathi, 98 in Mathematics, 97 in Science and Technology and 96 in Social Science. “Support of parents and teachers played a major role in my success. They always guided and encouraged me to follow my hobbies with study,” she stated. Maitreyee’s younger sister Mrudul is also a recipient of Vidarbha Ratna Award.
 
Her father Mohan Ghanote works with an NGO and mother Mrunmayi Ghanote is a social worker. Maitreyee want to pursue Science to become a doctor. When asked, how will she manage her hobbies while pursuing medical education, she replied, “My hobbies never became a hurdle in studies. I enjoy my hobbies besides the studies.” Maitreyee followed the timetable for studies meticulously. And for other activities my parents helped me to take out the time. She never restricted herself from using social media, but regularly paid attention to teaching in classroom. This helped her in reducing time for studies at home.
