Police bust inter-state gang, crack theft case

With the arrest of three persons, a joint team of Kotwali police and Cyber Cell claimed to have busted an inter-state gang of thieves and cracked a theft recently took place at a office in city’s Sadar Bazaar. “Three members of inter-state gang identified as Phool Singh (46), Parbat Singh (28) and Kalyan Singh (26), all natives of Rajasthan, were arrested in connection with a theft took place at the office of MAG Real Build. From the possession of Rajasthan-based thieves, police investigators have recovered Rs 1.50 lakh stolen from the office,” said police sources.
 
Phool Singh is the mastermind of theft took place at MAG Real Build, informed police sources, elaborating that the gang has also committed crimes in states adjoining Chhattisgarh and police is also collecting inputs in this regard. Detailing about the incident, police sources informed that during evening hours of May 27, the accused trio entered into the office of MAG Real Build and escaped with a bag containing cash around Rs 1.50 lakh.
 
By keeping cashier Sandeep Soni engaged in conversation, the thieves managed to steal the cash bag following which a complaint was lodged with Kotwali police station. Following the complaint of victim identified as Kastur Jain, police registered an offence under Sections 379 and 34 of Indian Penal Code (IPC), which amounting to punishment for theft and acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention. Police sources further informed that a special team comprised of Kotwali police and personnel of Cyber Cell was formed to crack the case. Based on CCTV footages, other technical evidences and tip-off, investigators learnt about presence of thieves in Rajasthan following which the team was rushed and the accused trio arrested.
