SSC results: With 67.27 pass percentage, Ngp Divn hits rock bottom again in Maharashtra

In the results of Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination conducted by Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) declared on Saturday, Nagpur Divisional Board proved to be a laggard for third successive year as it was placed last among nine boards in the State. The Division registered 67.27 per cent result. Anuja Sahastrabudhe and Kaivalya Joshi of Somalwar, Ramdaspeth scored 98.4% and 98.2% marks respectively and stood probable first and probable second toppers.
 
Shreyas Madankar of Tejaswini Vidya Mandir secured third position with 98% marks. MSBSHSE had conducted SSC examination between March 1 and March 22. In Nagpur Division, a total of 1,64,751 students had registered for the examination. Of them, total 1,62,005 appeared for the examination and 1,08,977 of them passed. The pass percentage of Nagpur Division is 67.27. The pass percentage of boys is 60.27 while that of girls is 74.61. Last year, the result of Nagpur Division was 85.97%, a decrease by 18.70%. As far as Amravati Division is concerned, it was at seventh position in the State last year. However, this time, its performance has gone down and the division was at eighth position. The overall pass percentage of Amravati Division this year is 71.98.
 
Among the six districts in Nagpur Division, Gondia has topped the chart with 71.74% result and Gadchiroli is at the bottom with 54.65% result. The overall result of Maharashtra is 77.10 per cent this year. Girls have outperformed boys. Among the students who appeared for the examination, 81.79 per cent of girls passed the examination and 70.29 per cent boys cleared it. Amongst all nine divisions, Konkan topped the chart with pass percentage of 88.38, followed by Kolhapur with 86.58 per cent result, Pune with 82.48 per cent, Nasik with 77.58 per cent, Mumbai with 77.04 per cent, Aurangabad 75.20 per cent, Latur 72.87 per cent, Amravati with 71.98 per cent, and Nagpur with 67.27 per cent. Now that the results are declared, students willing to go for retotaling will have to apply to respective Divisional Board between June 10 and 18. MSBSHSE has made arrangement to make available photocopy of answersheet to students, if it is sought. The interested students may apply for the same after on-line declaration of result. They can apply between June 10 and June 29 by depositing required fees.
 
 
The Board has begun revaluation facility from February/March-2013. For revaluation, photocopy of answersheet must be procured by student concerned. After procuring photocopy, application for revaluation should be made within five days with required fee. The Board had started Class Improvement Scheme in the year 2008.
 
This scheme was started with a purpose to give students a chance to improve their grades. Under the scheme, students who appeared in Summer-2019 will have a chance of appearing in the examination in October-2019 and February/March-2020. The SSC supplementary examination will begin in July 2019, and not in September/October 2019. The students have to submit applications in this regard from June 10.
