8 injured after speeding bus plunges into trench

Eight persons including six women were injured when a speeding bus was plunged into a trench near 13th Mile under the jurisdiction of Katangi police station, on Tuesday. According to Katangi police, police received information from State Police Control Room about a road accident. Taking prompt action on the information, a Dial 100 First Response Vehicle reached the spot and rushed the injured at Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Medical College and Hospital.
 
Condition of eight injured include Mirjha Choudhary, Kailash Choudhary, Dropadi Bai Choudhary, Jeera Bai Choudhary, residents of Kati village in Katangi, Yashoda Bai Yadav, Jaitun Nisha, Peer Mohammed, residents of Katangi and Rani Yadav, a resident of Dhuma village, Piparia in Seoni district is reported to be stable undergoing treatment at the hospital. In further investigation, police learnt that the incident took place when a mini bus bearing registration number MP-20PA-0367 driving carelessly by the driver ferrying passengers from Katangi towards Jabalpur was plunged into a trench.
 
In the mishap, eight passengers including six women sustained injuries. The accused bus driver managed to escape from the spot who is still at large. Katangi police have registered a case under Sections 279 and 337 of the IPC while a rigorous search is underway to identify and apprehend the accused bus driver. The injured passengers were rescued by police team comprised of FRV staff Constable, Shiv Prasad, Sainik Kamlesh Yadav and pilot Neelesh.
