The roots of sensational killing of three tigers, two leopards, 14 deer and wild boars occurred recently in Sitasawngi in Tumsar tehsil of Bhandara district seem to have spread to Madhya Pradesh. A team of forestmen, led by Nitesh Dhanvijay, Range Forest Officer, Nakadongri, arrested one more accused Shailesh Naktode (35), a resident of Kodbi village in Katangi tehsil of Balaghat district (MP).

Naktode had earlier contacted main accused in the case Maniram Gangboyar, a resident of Sitasawangi, to purchase the tiger paw. Forestmen produced the accused before Judicial Magistrate First Class, Tumsar, on Tuesday, who granted him Forest Custody Remand (FCR) till July 11.

Forestmen had already arrested 12 persons in this sensational case and seized skins, bones, skull and other body parts the wild animals. Tumsar court has granted them Magisterial Custody Remand till July 19, informed Vivek Hoshing, Deputy Conservator of Forest, Bhandara. Forestmen from Bhandara district are conducting further investigation in the matter. Foresters suspect that an organised gang is involved in the case.
