Opposition stages walkout over farmers’ issue

Opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) staged a walkout from Assembly during Zero Hour as its demand for immediate discussion on farmers’ problem was not entertained on Tuesday. Later, outside Assembly house, BJP MLAs raised slogans against Congress government. No sooner did Zero Hour started, former CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan raised the issue related to loan waiver of farmers. He said that earlier government promised to waive off farmers loan upto Rs 2 lakh and later turned away from this promise by saying that only short term loan will be waived off.
 
He asserted that farmers are not getting loan for seed and fertilizers as banks are asking them to repay the old loan. He said that by stopping all the proceeding of house, discussion should be done on farmers issue under public interest issue. Speaker N P Prajapati assured him that he will ensure that discussion takes place in any form but Opposition was bent upon that discussion should be done under adjournment motion. As BJP and Congress MLAs started to speak House plunged into chaos.
 
By seeing that demand for discussion under adjournment motion is not getting entertained, Opposition MLAs staged walk out. Damor resigns from Assembly’s membership Madhya Pradesh Assembly Speaker N P Prajapati told that MLA from Jhabua Guman Singh Damor resigned from membership of House and he had accepted the resignation of Damor on June 2. Govt to bring law for 70% reservation to youths in pvt sector Chief Minister Kamal Nath said in the Assembly that his Government is pondering over bringing a law to ensure that every industry should give 70 per cent preference to youths of Madhya Pradesh. Talking about 70 per cent reservation to State youths in private sector, he told that his Government’s decision attracted criticism from states like Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. He was speaking in middle of discussion on question asked by Yashpal Singh Sisodia over participation of outsider students in exams of MP Public Service Commission (MPPSC).
