GlobalLogic aims to touch Rs 7,000 cr revenue mark by 2020

Banking on the burgeoning growth, GlobalLogic, a digital product engineering services company, is eyeing to kiss a revenue target of Rs 7,000 crore by 2020. “We are clocking 20 per cent growth year-on-year (YoY),” said Shashank Samant, President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of GlobalLogic while talking exclusively to The Hitavada on Wednesday. GlobalLogic which already has crossed revenues worth Rs 5,000 crore in business, will add another 9,500 headcounts taking the total tally to 24,000 by 2020. “Our 65 per cent revenue business is from clients in US and 35 per cent is from clients in Europe which includes UK, Germany, Switzerland and Sweden,” he said.
 
Disclosing the trajectory growth story of his company, Samant said, GlobalLogic banks on three things-- high-end talent, collaboration and client partners. “Those who work with us are our partners. We not only guide them but also learn from them,” Samant said. He said, as a part of the corporate social responsibility (CSR), GlobalLogic has kept aside a fund from its profit earnings which are spent on healthcare and education.
 
“We have set up GlobalLogic Foundation for education. Medical and healthcare are facilities we provide aptly linked with Union Budget presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. She has initiated lot of steps for startups what will bring a visible change in the economy,” he said. For CSR, there is Canadian Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB) which takes care of healthcare services. Engineering R&D services is growing at a faster pace in IT industry. There are lot of consolidations. GlobalLogic, the San Jose-based company has dominance in the engineering service sector. It has acquired eight companies. The first one to see the acquisition was Nagpur-based Lambent Technologies in 2006. GlobalLogic has hired merger and acquisition specialist Jonathan Rothenberg to take care of acquisition process and swell the number. “Before going for acquisition, we see things like what is the speciality of the company, it’s talent pool and what are the clients.
 
We have to maintain our entrepreneurial DNA. GlobalLogic is a company of engineers, by engineers and for engineers,” the top official of the company said with enthusiasm beaming from eyes. GlobalLogic identifies niche companies in areas like IoT, 5G, autonomous driving, machine learning. The company has strong presence in media and communications vertical which contributes 30-35 per cent of the total revenue. The medical devices contributes 25 per cent. “We too have presence in automobile which shares 20 per cent of business to our revenues,” he said. GlobalLogic has over 300 active clients including Google, RelinaceJio, Nokia, Samsung, CocaCola, Ericsson, 70 private label customer labs, 26 engineering centres and 10 design studios including Nagpur.
 
Expands centre in Nagpur GlobalLogic has expanded its current engineering footprint in Nagpur. With this expansion, GlobalLogic aims to further leverage Nagpur’s strong engineering talent and put it up on the digital engineering map to create job opportunities for the region. GlobalLogic has been providing complex digital engineering services from Nagpur for over a decade. It has added a space to its existing centre in Nagpur, said Shashank Samant, President and CEO of GlobalLogic.
 
The centre expansion offers best in class end-to-end customer experience skillset in immersive computing, mobile applications etc. The Nagpur facility will help bring new age digital skillset to the region and will help accelerate time to market by enabling technology solutions for global leaders across verticals including medical technology, digital CSP (Communication Service Providers) and digital media. “We have 600 professionals in Nagpur. The additional space in our centre at Nagpur will accommodate another 200 professionals. We look towards our professionals as individual labs as they are continously involved in R&D work,” he said.
 
Qualities of an entrepreneur According to Shashank Samant, President and CEO of GlobalLogic, an entrepreneur should have three qualities to enjoy the fruits of success. He should not have fear of failure i.e risk taking. An entrepreneur should have ability to look beyond horizon and have ability to attract the best of talent.
