Youth attempts to loot ATM machine, police launches search for accused

No offence in this connection has been registered as the bank personnel did not turn up to lodge a complaint
A youth, equipped with rod-like tool, allegedly attempted to rob an ATM kiosk of Punjab National Bank in Raipur on Wednesday. The incident kept local police and media on tenterhook after a screenshot of a CCTV footage, claimed to be of Punjab National Bank’s ATM kiosk located at Telghani Naka under Ganj police station circulated on online messaging application.
However, no offence in this connection has been registered as the bank personnel did not turn up to lodge a complaint. Moreover, police is also not confirming about the alleged bid to rob the ATM. “Police is yet to receive any complaint the bank’s side about footage of alleged bid to rob the ATM. It seems like the footage might be of an old incident. If any complaint in this connection would be received, investigation will be carried out,” said Ganj Station House Officer (SHO) Purnima Lama.
