Woman strangulated to death

Sensation prevailed in a house in village Kusli falling under Belkkheda police station on Thursday after one 55-year-old woman was found lying strangulated to death. The unidentified assailant strangulated the woman by covering her face with pillow. The incident came to fore after the husband and son of the deceased woman came back home spending overnight in the agriculture field found the main door locked from inside and when they scaled the wall, found the woman lying dead in the cot in the courtyard. According to information, large scale panic was reported in village Kusli falling under Belkkheda police station on Thursday after the husband and son of 55-year-old woman found her lying dead on the cot in the courtyard.
 
The hubby and son of the deceased woman used to spend night in a room constructed in the agriculture field to keep vigil on their standing crop. It is informed that, as per regular routine, Hakku Lodhi left home for agriculture field along with his son Bhagwandas Lodhi(34). On Thursday morning, when the father-son duo came back home, the door was found locked from inside, an unusual development that never took place previously. Suspecting major foul, they scaled the boundary wall and found the woman lying dead on the cot in the courtyard with pillow placed against her face. As the family members, taking stock of the situation, speculated that the woman was subjected to strangulation by putting the pillow on her face as by the time they examined the woman, she was found no more.
 
Cops on being informed reached the spot and carried out investigations in presence of FSL team and dog squad. Carrying out investigations, cops made panchnama in presence of ASP (Rural) Dr Raisingh Narvariya and SDOP Patan S N Pathak. At the time of making of panchnama, the deceased was identified as Prem Bai Hakku Lodhi(55), resident of village Kusli. In the first instance, the investigation team held that the woman was subjected to death by strangulation. As the unidentified assailant, who invaded the home of the woman being alone around late night, placed pillow on the face of the sleeping woman who attempted to resist the move however proved in vain.
 
A case under Section 302,450 of IPC has been registered against unidentified assailants behind the murder. No trace of loot or theft was found in the house of the deceased. SP, Amit Singh, on being apprised about the murder, has instructed to constitute team to apprehend the unidentified assailants behind the murder. Accordingly, a team has been constituted under the direction of ASP (Rural) Dr Raisingh Narvariya and SDOP Patan S N Pathak. Further investigations are underway. Asif Iqbal, SHO Belkheda informed that the actual cause behind the death would get established only after the autopsy report is tabled before the investigation team.
