Engine of Itarsi-Allahabad passenger derails, none hurt

Passengers boarding Itarsi Allahabad (Cheoki) passenger train number 51189 faced tough time when its engine got derailed near Dundi station of Jabalpur division. The traffic remained affected for five hours, causing huge inconvenience to the passengers.
 
 
According to the information, 51189 Itarsi Allahabad Passenger train left Jabalpur Station around 10 pm. When the train reached Dundi station, the Station Master sent the engine of this train to take engine at the siding. When the engine of Allahabad Passenger train reached the siding, its wheels got derailed, creating chaos. After this incident, train traffic was affected due to train bogies parked on the track and waiting for the engine. For some time, the station management tried to bring back the derailed train on the track with driver. Failing in this attempt, the main control room was called.
 
 
Thereafter, around 1 pm, the accident relief train reached the spot and initiated the work. After over four hours, the train’s derailed engine was restored on track and then, at 5 pm, the train could start its further journey. Divisional Railway Manager, Dr Manoj Singh informed that, the minor derailment of locomotive took place when it was engaged in shunting on another line.
 
 
The train coaches were also on side track and hence, remained same without any complication. However, the time taken in restoration of the journey for passengers caused inconvenience for the passengers. Due to this locomotive derailment, three wheels of engine went out of track, which got restored by the team. It may be mentioned that, an inquiry has been ordered by the authorities to know the cause of the incident.
