IG Deshmukh launches drive to make Bhopal drugs-free

“Drug in the society has become a big problem and evil in which the children and youth are the target and become prey and we all have to solve this problem together. In order to keep children and youth away from this horrible evil in the society and to free them from drugs, we need to start a special campaign on priority and take action,” said IG Yogesh Deshmukh at review meeting on Mission Drugs Free’.
 
 
The meeting was addressed by IG Yogesh Deshmukh, in which various NGOs, social organisations and police officers were present in the city working on the liberation. IG Deshmukh directed all station in-charges to collect information of drug peddlers in their respective police stations and take strict action and gather information about drug addicts and try to free them from drugs with the help of NGOs and social organisations, conduct seminars and programmes in various schools and colleges and institutions for awareness by running the campaign.
 
 
He informed that, the cell will be set up to make areas highly susceptible to drug trafficking and drug addiction in the city, such as around schools, colleges and coaching institutions and other areas drug-free. Identifying the location where it is likely to be smuggled, trafficking people and accused in smuggling will take effective and strict action and will take action against social institutions and coordinate in identifying the drug addicts and work to bring them in the mainstream of the society.
