Choose your heart

IT’S BEEN a beautiful journey in less time. Sharing different bonds with people from all ages and deeply relating to colourful opinions was indeed a wonderful experience for me. People come and go and you are held here to grow, you change and you become a better person by each passing day. And the new adventures will keep entering our lives, moulding us and leaving us with lessons. When I came across a friend yesterday and as we began to talk about dreams and deep down I came to the conclusion that it’s the balance we are not able to keep.

“The balance” where we are compensating with our hearts and fulfilling the ordinary art. Something which we had never dreamt to be. Why don’t we work for what we want to be? Instead of being a part of rat race, we wanted to make this existence worth. Why are we so frustrated with our jobs and with our selfless routines? My MBA friend, could be the best masterchef. My doctor friend could be an awesome comedian. My IITian friend unfit for the placements could be the world’s beautiful poet. The thought took me to the lives of my few other friends who are merely loving their jobs. As there is a very apt saying, “work is worship.” And for the work to become worship, we must love our job. It’s useless getting engulfed by the work where your heart and mind are not happy. You are not able to balance things, and after a while, it sucks. Let your work be your love, only then you can worship that.

We are in a society where degree is valued more. The first thing people ask you is what are your career goals and which noble degree are you pursuing? Take time for yourself today. Think with all your heart, mind and soul. What do you want in life? How do you imagine it to be. Take time and decide how you want to roll on this roller coaster. To those who have kept those unchased dreams inside. You can still try to strive on them, work on them, enhance them and bloom with them. Sometimes wrong career choices take us so far, laying down our talents which will never fade away. Even after moving so far from our passion, we carry them inside us. We behold that artist inside us. It’s never too late, don’t let that die. Kshitija didn’t know she would be a busy doctor, where only she loved to play with her doctor set toys during childhood. Life is ironic, where you merely know where the journey will take you, but the real art is to choose the heart.

I just want you to understand; are you mentally happy with your job? If we are not able to mentally accept and fit in the work we are doing, we can never be satisfied with ourselves. Just cut what negatives others put into your mind, listen to your gut and get driven by your own thoughts. Your thoughts are power. I know few must be reading this and regretting their choices. But think above and beyond. Are you happy? I know how it feels, We break from inside when we don’t love our work. “Fall for your passion, dream that in a bigger way, and then live that dream, and love your life anyway.”
