The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is focusing on its membership drive. It is continuously holding meeting to give various necessary tips to its workers over how to increase the party’s base by going among masses and to inform them about party policies. Sources in BJP told that currently BJP is having around 1.5 crore members in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh and target has been set to increase party base by 10 to 20 per cent respectively.

More or less, party intends to make more than 10 lakh new members in State. Senior leaders of party are keeping a close watch on membership drive and are inspiring workers to attract more and more people towards party and make them member of party. From time to time, they are also taking stock of the membership drive and on finding any lacunae, they are trying to rectify the things. Talking to ‘The Hitavada’, BJP Spokesman Rahul Kothari told that the target is set to make around 55 lakh new members under the membership drive. The efforts are underway to contact people.

Moreover, endeavours are also underway to contact the old members but owing to change of their address and mobile numbers, some problem is coming to fore in contacting them. This time, party has given the new format and it is more easy to fill. As party has received tremendous support in Lok Sabha elections, hence, BJP anticipate that it will easily accomplish the target of membership drive. BJP is stressing on membership drive till block-level and even to booth-level.
