Even after getting 11 PG degrees, 68-year-old Ade still wants more

Having three Post Graduation degrees is a lifetime achievement for many, but this 68-year-old man of Nagpur who holds 11 PG degrees, is now planning to achieve more in academics. Meet Madhusudan Charandas Ade, an Indian Information Service (IIS) cadre of 1983 batch and a former Incharge (News Section), Aakashwani Nagpur, who recently received his 11th PG degree in ‘Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Thought’ from RTM Nagpur University (RTMNU).
 
“It was my 11th degree and first after retirement,” said Ade. This retired IIS officer also have PG degrees in Sociology, History, Geography, Political Science, Public Administration, Marathi Literature, English Literature, Ambedkarite Thought and many other. “Sky of education having no limit because education can be taken at any time and at any age,” stated Ade. “I really enjoy studying. It is not difficult at all,” he said. “I have been continuously in the process of preparing for exams and applying for new degrees or diploma courses,” he told The Hitavada.
 
Ade recently applied for PG degree in Journalism from Mahatma Gandhi University in Wardha and also applied for MA in Hindi course from Maulana Azad University, Jammu. “I developed to utilise time in education after getting transfer from Mumbai to Nagpur Aakashwani. The passion of having degrees generated from there,” he added. He also encouraged from Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar who received a long list of degrees in his career.
 
He received ten degrees between 1997-2010 when he is working as incharge in Aakashwani Nagpur. Ade got superannuated in 2012, but he never thought to restrict his passion. Ade’s wife Madhulata is working in Central Railway and he has three sons. His elder son is working as Deputy Commandant in Indian Coast Guard in Mumbai while one is working in Banking sector and another one is preparing for UPSE. However, Parthiban wishes to continue his journey of learning and collecting more and more degrees along the way.
