Minister Patel asks for uniform admission fees in Govt varsities

A committee would be formed to monitor and improve online admission systems
 
 
State Higher Education Minister Umesh Patel on Monday said that all Government universities in State should have uniform admission fees and directed the officials of his department to prepare a proposal for further course of action on it. He stated this in a review meeting of the department at the Mantralaya on Monday. Also present on the occasion were vice-chancellors and registrars of the universities. Similarly, the Minister directed for the constitution of a Study Committee for bringing improvement in the online admission systems of the universities.
 
The Minister said in the meeting that the results in the universities should be announced by June 15 while following the academic calendar strictly. The vice-chancellors should monitor the results of the colleges doing poor and take necessary measures for improvement. The Minister also congratulated Pt Ravishankar Shukla University and Indira Kala Sangeet Vishwavidyalaya for obtaining NAAC Grade A and asked the other universities to upgrade themselves.
 
The minister also directed for implementation of 10 per cent reservation for upper caste candidates in the recruitment against vacant posts. Higher Education Principal Secretary Renu Pillay, Higher Education Commissioner Himshikar Gupta, Durg Commissioner and Durg University Vice-Chancellor Dilip Wasnikar and Raipur Commissioner and KTUJM Vice-Chancellor G R Churendra were present in the meeting.
