IG Vivek Sharma inaugurates workshop on sensitiveness towards weaker section

Inspector General of Police (Jabalpur Zone), Vivek Sharma (IPS) inaugurated the two days zonal workshop on sensitiveness towards weaker section of the society, on Wednesday. Addressing the seminar, IG, Vivek Sharma emphasized over the significance of subject of the workshop and said that two days of the seminar are important for the participants. Along with the Indian Penal Code, several laws have been made pointing out the social scenario. Officers have to shoulder the responsibility of implementing all the amended laws on the field. They heed to discuss challenges through discussion during the workshop for better implementation of amended laws.
 
Police have been given rights for management in the society and subject experts will provide them important information about it. General public have several expectations from police department and officers should keep positive spirit for making justice with victims. Officers should take prompt action in case of receiving information about atrocity against weaker section and providing them necessary assistance. He advised the officers for being sensitive while registering FIR on the complaint of person belong to weaker section and presenting the challan after collecting evidences and taking suggestion from law experts. IG, Sharma suggested the officers for discussing their field experiences to solve their queries. The knowledge they will get during the workshop should be transferred to other officers and employees in their respective police stations for better law enforcement and making justice with appellants.
 
Speaking on the occasion, Superintendent of Police, Amit Singh (IPS) informed that during the workshop, participants will be given information about amended laws of SC/ST Act, on January 26, 2016, significance of physical evidences during investigation, method of collecting evidences, solving the mistakes during investigation for conviction, crime against children, laws of POCSO Act, information of women empowerment schemes, drafting first information report and other technicalities. During the workshop, SP (AJJAK), Samar Verma, DSP (AJJAK), Surekha Parmar and 55 officers of Sub Inspector, Inspection and DSP rank were present.
