Collector Pithode holds review meeting of Food & Civil Supplies deptt

Collector Tarun Pithode holding a review meeting of the officials belonging to Food and Drug Administration, Measurement Department and Food and Civil Supplies departments at Collectorate on Thursday. Pithode warned the officials concerned to take samples four times more than the given target for testing of food items and take strict action against the guilty. He directed that field staff should remain in field and he would make surprise inspection.
 
Collector Pithode under ‘Hara Bhopal-Sheetal Bhopal’ directed the food officers to ensure plantation of at least 100 saplings at each petrol pump premises and also ensure post-plantation care of these saplings. Collector also directed to ensure separate toilets for male and female at each petrol pump premises and expected that all petrol pumps should be green petrol pump after plantation. Collector taking stock of ration shops said that verification of all fair price shops and godowns should be done within 15 days. It was also informed that names of around 23,235 non-titled families have been deleted under National Food Security Act so far from January 2019.
 
Pithode directed the officials to take necessary action after investigation and cancel bogus ration cards. He directed the officials of food department to do verification of ration cards of all fair price shops in last three days of the month. He also directed the officials to ensure distribution of ration through biometric machine at all the fair price shops and if distribution was done through Aadhar Card and Samagra ID then such shops should be identified and their verification is must.
 
Collector directed the Food Department officials to take samples of sweets, street food, all food items being sold in the city and send the samples for testing. He asked the officials to inform him about the action within 15 days. Officials of Food and Drug Administration Department, Measurement Department, RTO, Petrol Pump operators, gas agency owners, sales officers of oil companies were present in the meeting.
