Police crack six burglary cases

Raipur Police claimed to have cracked six cases of burglaries with the arrest of a man named Yousuf Khan on Thursday. Police also recovered Rs 5.70 lakh in cash and a Pulsar motorcycle used in the theft. On the direction of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shaikh Arif Husen, Cyber Cell constituted a special team to search out the culprits of strings of burglaries in different parts of the city. The team scoped out the crime scenes while also interrogating the people of surrounding areas. CCTV footages were also closely examined to identify the accused.
 
Some suspected faces spotted in these footages were put under the surveillance. Police sleuths in civil dress deployed at different thoroughfares kept a close eye. Based on some technical information, Police rounded-up Yousuf Khan, who tried a lot to mislead the authorities while repudiating any involvement in the crime. But, he finally gave up in the face of evidences.
 
As the things unfolded, Yousuf went to confess committing over one dozen burglaries in different parts of the city. He even told the stolen cash was used to construct his home. He was carrying out these felonies for past one year. Yousuf also led the police to concealed cash Rs 5.70 lakh and a pulsar used in the crime. SSP Husen has announced cash prize for the police team which caught the accused.
