“Education is the most powerful weapon, which you can use, to change the world.” These words uttered by Nelson Mandela give an insight into significant role played by education to make a human out of a man. Quality can never be achieved accidentally. It requires unshaken determination, sincere efforts and smart guidance to achieve, opined Professor Anu Singh Lather, Vice Chancellor, Ambedkar University, Delhi and Head of NAAC Peer Team presently visiting Government MH Home Science and Science College for Women for assessment.

Talking to ‘The Hitavada’, Dr Lather shared her opinion about the recent National Education Policy. “The recent Education Policy is one of the most amazing drafts one can imagine. The draft has already been prepared by the Ministry of Human Resource and Development and soon, going to be an app and believe me, it will effectively transform India to become a nation, which is highly educated, soon. As far as NAAC manual is concerned, we have certain criteria. We are looking forward to qualitative and quantitative changes within the assessment system.

NAAC has already introduced the criteria to conduct 70 percent of the evaluation on the basis of the data provided by the colleges online on its website. Presently, we are here to conduct remaining 30 percent of qualitative assessment. NAAC works effortlessly to enhance quality in higher education in the country. The committee is determined to develop quality, a crucial element in the field of higher education, through assessment, promotion of research works and quality enhancement in teaching-learning activities and sustenance initiatives.

She wished “The whole nation contributes qualitatively for enhancement of college education, university education and the National Education Policy. That’s the impetus and focuses all about on the quality education and skill development at the level of higher education.”
