The Minister for Food and Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Department, Pradhyumn Singh Tomar said that after successful implementation in Dewas district, Aadhaar-based ration distribution scheme will be now implemented in seventeen districts of Indore, Ujjain and Shahdol divisions from this month. The scheme ensures that listed beneficiary can get ration from any of the shop in State. Addressing the press conference, Pradhyumn Singh Tomar told that earlier if labour of Balaghat used to go to Ujjain or any other place then he was unable to get the subsidised ration.

Seeing this, State Government came up with the idea of Aadhaar-based ration distribution and it was first implemented in Dewas district in June month. Buoyed by the exhilarating results, government has decided to extend scheme in 17 more districts of Indore, Ujjain and Shahdol divisions. By the month of August, it will be also implemented in four districts of Rewa as well. Shedding light on the major factors of new scheme, he told that entire data of beneficiaries is available on server on which could be seen on 7,000 fair price shops of 18 districts.

The poor families entitled to get subsidised ration can get ration from any of these fair price shops. If anyone finds fair price shop closed or shops POS machine is not working then he can get the subsidised ration from next shop. The good thing about this system is this that those who do not open fair price shops on time and commit irregularities will automatically be ousted from ration distribution system. Apart from this, those beneficiaries whose Aadhaar number is not registered in data base and have to wait till date 19 to get ration as their Aadhaar number has fault, they can get ration from fair price shop after e KYC process.

The shops were there is no net connectivity, there off line ration would be distributed. He also that that process to procure food grains from farmers has been simplified. In comparison to 3008 procurement centre of last year, this year 3,545 procurement centres have been made. This will help in reducing the distance covered by farmers to sell their food grains. The payment of farmers has been made direct in their account. Minister Pradhyumn Singh Tomar took swipe at Modi government for increasing fuel price by saying that this will increase the expenditure of poor family whose son takes private bus to go to education institution. He said that those who came to power in the name of Ram are torturing the disciples of Ram.
