Rathore reminds Mayor of his unfulfiled promises

Politics in Raipur Municipal Corporation (RMC) heated up as leader of opposition Suryakant Rathore launched a full salvo of allegations and accusations on Mayor for not fulfilling the scores of announcements which he made before the election. Rathore reminded Mayor of his promises which he hasn’t fulfilled since 2017-18.
The announcements like beautification of statues of great personalities, development of modern art centre, maze, and cycling track in Motibagh, Shastri Bazaar Hygienic Market, Smart Road and GIS survey, the report of which was unanimously rejected by the Corporators in General Body Meeting (GBM). In 2018-19, Mayor announced projects like Sondongri slaughter house, 2 additional Kanji House, Vending Zones in 8 Zones, water-harvesting system, where crores of rupees are still stuck. Ashray Sthal at Mowa and Bhatagaon, Breastfeeding spots at 5 public places, Ganj Mandir project, which is shelved due to the vested interest of Congress leaders.
Two more Gokul Nagar, e-rickshaw charging point, Daldal-Seoni amusement park, Subhash Stadium fire station, transforming zones into smart zones, underground dustbins, 24-hour water supply and meter, and bio-toilets/urinals at public places. Raipur even slipped down to 66th place in Swacchta Ranking during present Mayor’s tenure. Raipur city is also getting 31 percent contaminated water. It was on the Court’s order of did dumping of waste begin at Sakri.
But, now even the Sakri residents have begun protesting against the dumping of waste. Payment to the Ramki Company was based on the terms of cent percent door-to-door waste collection, but it is still no far from the target while Rs 4 crores has already been paid to the Company. The promise of 50 percent discount on property tax, ration card, 35 kg rice, AC bus terminus, road widening from Tatyapara to Sharda Chowk, Hygienic Fish Market, sewerage treatment plant at three places apart from the Katoratalab, 7 new water tanks, Gauthan for stray cattle, mechanical sweeping and smart drainage system, which include covering the sewers. The only achievements of the Mayor are BSUP House allotment scam, e-rickshaw scam, fake building permit scam, filter plant scrap scam, Rs 65 lakh embezzlement in water tanker, and per month Rs 30 to Rs 35 lakh swindling in Sanitation Department, which even the Sanitation Department member In-charge Shri Kumar Menon have accepted in the House on multiple occasions.
