National Secretary of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Kailash Vijayvargiya kick started party’s membership drive in State capital on Saturday. He said that if we have to take nation forward then we have to strengthen BJP. If BJP gets strengthened then country will automatically become strong because BJP’s first slogan is ‘Nation First’. Addressing the function organised to kick start membership drive, he added that Dr Shyama Prasad Mukerjee fought the battle for West Bengal and if it escaped from getting separated from country then the credit goes to Dr Shyamaprasad Mukerjee.

“BJP never did the appeasement politics but Congress always followed the appeasement politics,” he stated. Going retrospective, he added that when Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel was working to unite the country, at that time Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru took the issue of Kashmir into his hands. The lone reason for Kashmir problem is Nehru and Congress. Hailing the zeal of party workers for membership drive, he told that of the total membership, 10 per cent members have to be made under the membership drive. He hoped that in entire country, membership drive will pass the figure of 5 crore. He asked party workers to reach till every booth to make party of everyone.

Talking about party’s landslide victory in Lok Sabha elections, he focused on Madhya Pradesh and stated that out of 29 Lok Sabha seats, 28 seats have been won by the BJP. This has been possible through the hard work of party workers. He said that while remaining outside power, BJP won more seats than it won while remaining in power in previous Lok Sabha elections. Even Kamal Nath’s hardly managed to save seat of his son from Chhindwara. On this occasion, BJP leaders including state membership drive in charge Arvind Bhadoria, BJP State Vice President Vijesh Lunawat, District President Vikas Virani, former MLA Surendra Nath Singh, ex-MLA Dhruvnarayan Singh etc were also present.
