CM’s mother passes away Last rites to be performed in Bhilai today

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel’s mother Bindeswari Baghel passed away at a private hospital, following her prolonged illness, here on Sunday afternoon. She was 78. She was undergoing treatment at Ramkrishna Care Hospital for the last several days. “Bindeshwari Baghel was admitted at Ramkrishna Care hospital on June 24 after she had suffered cardiac arrest,” Consulting Physician of the Ramkrishna Care Hospital Dr Abbas Naqvi, who was treating her, told The Hitavada. According to Dr Naqvi, she breathed her last at around 4.45 pm while Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel was sitting beside her.”She was also suffering from chronic kidney disease.
 
A team of doctors from Delhi had also attended her at Ramkrishna Care Hospital. She took her last breath at around 4:45 pm on Sunday,” Dr Naqvi maintained. She is survived by two daughters Meera and Bharti, besides two sons Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and Hitesh Baghel. According to the official sources, her mortal remains were taken to Bhilai-3 residence from Ramkrishna Care Hospital, where the moral remains would be opened for visitors for paying their last respects.
 
“The funeral procession will be taken from her Bhilai-3 at 11 am onwards on Monday after which the last rites will be performed at Bhilai-3 Muktidham,” the sources added. Meanwhile, on Sunday noon, after the news of her demise spread, a large number of Congress leaders and workers started reaching the hospital. Cabinet Ministers T Singhdeo, Dr Shiv Kumar Dahariya, Kawasi Lakhma, CPCC President Mohan Markam and other Congress leaders were the first to reach the hospital. In her condolatory message, Governor Anandiben Patel expressed deep sorrow over the demise of Bindeshwari Baghel. She also prayed almighty to rest the soul in peace while accord the courage for the bereaved family to bear the loss. Also, former Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh bereaved the Chief Minister. In his message, Dr Singh said, “I am shocked to hear the death of Bindeshwari Baghel. We are with the family in their time of grief and sorrow.
