Anirban Dasgupta’s name recommended for Dir, Projects and Business Planning

Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) Govt. of India has recommended BSP-CEO, Anirban Dasgupta’s name for the post of Director (Projects and Business Planning), Steel Authority of India Ltd. (SAIL) out of the seven contenders who were in the fray for the post. In the selection meeting of PESB held on July 8 (Monday) seven applicants were interviewed after which CEO-BSP, Anirban Dasgupta’s name was finalised.
The seven applicants including Anirban Dasgupta were Sanjay Sharma, Executive Director, SAIL, Mahendra Pratap Singh, General Manager SAIL, Jagdish Arora, General Manager SAIL, Subhash Kumar Das, General Manager SAIL and Bijay Kumar Das, General Manager SAIL. Here it needs a mention that CEO-BSP, Anirban Dasgupta has assumed the charge as Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP) on June1, 2019 a month ago after the superannuation of CEO, A K Rath. Prior to assuming his current assignment, Dasgupta was CEO, IISCO Steel Plant (ISP) with additional charge of Chief Executive Officer of Durgapur Steel Plant (DSP) and Alloy Steel Plant (ASP). The present Director (Projects and Business Planning), SAIL, Ganesh Vishwakarma’s tenure will b\e completing on January 31, 2020, after which Anirban Dasgupta will assume the charge. With this one more thing has become clear that the return of M Ravi as CEO-BSP will not be possible anyway as he is superannuating in January 2020.
