Chain snatcher arrested

A joint team of Raipur Police’s Cyber Cell and Pandri police arrested a chain snatcher and recovered valuables worth Rs 1 lakh from his possession. “Based on precise tip-off coupled with ongoing investigation, the team has arrested a chain snatcher identified as Vijay Yadav (32), a resident of Pandri locality. From his possession, investigators have seized a stolen motorcycle and a gold chain snatched from a woman at Mowa locality.
 
The estimated market value of the seized valuables would be Rs 1 lakh,” said police sources. Shedding more information about the case, police sources informed that in May this year, Yadav had snatched golden chain of woman identified as Uttara Devi Verma at Mowa locality under Pandri police limits. Following the complaint of victim woman, police closely scanned the footages collected from CCTV cameras installed in the area. Based on technical evidences and tip-off, police rounded-up Yadav.
 
Initially, the snatcher attempted to mislead police investigators but on being subjected to intense grilling, Yadav admitted of committing the snatching and lifting the motorcycle under in crime from limits of Civil Lines police station, added police sources. According to the information, with the arrest of Yadav, Pandri claimed to have solved the case of chain snatching.
