MAHARASHTRA Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Friday paid rich tributes to freedom fighters on the 76th anniversary of the Quit India movement.

Mumbai Congress leaders Milind Deora and Eknath Gaikwad visited August Kranti Maidan in Mumbai and laid a wreath at the Martyrs Memorial.

“My humble tributes to those freedom fighters who sounded the bugle for India’s independence,” Fadnavis tweeted.
School children also visited the Martyrs Memorial to pay their respects. On this date in 1942, Mahatma Gandhi gave a
clarion call to end the British rule and launched the Quit India movement.
