Public sector banks complete first stage of bottom-up ideation exercise

Following the directions of the Union Government, the public sector banks (PSBs) in the region on Sunday completed the bottom-up consultative process from the branch level onwards. The exercise involved discussions at the branch or regional level in the first round. UCO Bank conducted bankers meet at zonal level on Sunday. S S Chahande, Deputy General Manager, Head Office Kolkata and Ashok Telang, Zonal Head graced the event, which was the first stage of the three stage consultative process as communicated by DFS. In depth discussions on eight thematic topics as directed by DFS had been carried out and ideas/suggestions gathered will be compiled for state and bank level i.e. SLBC.
 
Indian Overseas Bank, Regional Office Nagpur conducted campaign for generation of ideas and consultation till branch level, involving all the branches with the region’s jurisdiction. The meet focused on banks performance and its alignment with the national priorities in areas such as credit support for economic growth, infrastructure industry, farm sector and blue economy, jal shakti, MSME/Mudra/Stand-Up India, educational loans, export credit, green economy, Swachh Bharat, financial inclusion and women’s empowerment, DBT, less cash/digital economy, easy living, MSME aligment with local priorities, corporate social responsibility. Union Bank of India, Nagpur Region Office organised meeting of all branch heads at Hotel Tuli Imperial. In this meeting S S Chandrashekhar, General Manager Central Office, CRLD Department, Sumer Singh Saroya, Regional Head Nagpur and Arvind Kumar Susarla, Deputy Regional Head Nagpur were among the prominent persons who were present.
 
All the 74 branches under Nagpur Region of the bank participated in it. Indian Bank, Zonal Office Nagpur had successfully conducted the meeting with the active participation of the branch managers. Detailed discussions were held on bank lending to MSME sector including lending under Stand-up India, Mudra loans, PSB loans etc. Similarly, bank finance to agriculture and SHG lending were also focussed upon. Other areas like retails lending, digital transaction for both convenience and outreach were touched upon.
