MLA Sharma demands compensation for damaged crops

BJP MLA from Huzur constituency Rameshwar Sharma, accompanied by farmers, reached Collector office and submitted memorandum to Collector Tarun Pithode on Wednesday. Sharma demanded that farmers are in deep financial crisis as incessant rains have damaged their soybean and other crops. Sharma reached Collectorate along with several farmers who carried bunch of damaged soybean crops in their hands. In the memorandum, Sharma said that owing to heavy rains, soybean and other crops including maize have got destroyed in fields situated alongside Kolans river. The fields are under submergence from last one month. Farmers are in financial crisis.
 
Adding to the woes of farmers, the loan waiver has not taken place and farmers have still not received bonus of wheat. Sharma said that kharif crops of farmers have been damaged cent percent. Hence, Kamal Nath government should provide compensation by the average of Rs 40,000 per acre. Sharma also threatened that if the demands are not met then he will march till Mantralaya and will demonstrate against government.
 
He alleged that farmers have not received benefit of loan waiver promise of Congress government. He also informed that district administration has not sent the list of eligible farmers to centre for Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi under which they were supposed to get Rs 6,000 per year. Along with other central schemes meant for welfare of farmers has been not implemented in districts. Submitting memorandum to Collector, he told that all demands are connected with problems of peasants and needs to be solved shortly. He threatened that if demands are not met then he will march to put lock at Mantralaya.
