Madhya Pradesh Congress has urged BJP MPs to join Congress government in requesting Centre to release pending share of Madhya Pradesh in various central taxes and to release money of State’s infrastructure development. Addressing the press conference, Congress Media Department Vice President Abhay Dubey said that Congress government has got reins of cash-strapped State. Chief Minister Kamal Nath is trying to put State on development path even after facing various kinds of adversaries. As Centre has put on hold crores of rupees in the form of State’s share and hence development is getting affected. “Madhya Pradesh Congress will urge BJP MPs to join it in requesting Prime Minister Narendra Modi to release State’s share in different central taxes and to release stopped money meant for state infrastructure development,” he told.

He added that Central Government led by BJP has not released its share of Rs 598 crore in various schemes under National Rural Drinking Water Programme. Likewise, under central road fund, centre has not released Rs 498.96 crore, Rs 576 crore under Bhavantar scheme etc. he also said that Madhya Pradesh purchased Rs 73.70 lakh metric tonne wheat on support price in rabi season but centre sanctioned support price on only 65 lakh metric tonne wheat.

Hence, State is still expecting to get around Rs 1500 crore on 8.70 lakh metric tonne wheat. Moreover, Union Government also reduced Rs 6567 crore in central-sponsored schemes. All this affected State’s integrated development badly. He appealed BJP MPs to support Congress government in getting its due share in various central sponsored schemes for overall development of state. Answering a question that when Shivraj Singh Chouhan was CM, at that time he had staged dharna against Central Government led by UPA to get State’s shares. He told that Congress government strongly believes in federal structure and is hopeful of full co-operation from PM Narendra Modi.
