Pola Mahotsav to be celebrated at village Madiapar today

“Village Madiapar, a centre from where the traditional festival ‘Pola’ got national recognition will be celebrating the festival this year too with the theme protection from malnutrition and water purification and conservation. This will be the 56th year of celebration to be held under the aegis of Shashtri Navyuvak Mandal (SNM) on August 30,” informed Convener of SNM Dr Sunil Sahu while addressing the mediapersons here on Wednesday.
 
Dr Sahu detailing about the celebrations informed that the festival will commence at 12.00 noon and continue till late night where Bull Race and Chhattisgarhi folk programme ‘Lahar Ganga’ will be the center of attraction. Former Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh will grace the event as Chief guest while former Minister,Brijmohan Agrawal, MP Vijay Baghel, Vikramaditya Singh Judev and Jaya Judev (Jashpur Royal family) along with Padmashree Shamshad Begam, Rajesh Yadav Hindwi Sena Sangh Chief, Rajendra Sahu, Joint Sectary of CPCC, Media Incharge Jitendra Sahu, fomer IAS O P Choudhary and others will be present as special invitees. Dr Sahu also informed that this festival has made its presence in the national level and such dignities from various States attend this function and get themselves acquainted with the traditional festival of Chhattisgarh.
