Union Minister apprised of initiatives taken by State to fight malnutrition, poverty

Bhagat informed Ram Vilas Paswan that the state government has increased the MSP of paddy to Rs 2500 paddy per quintal and the decision has strengthened the economic status of farmers 
 
Chhattisgarh Food and Civil Supplies Minister Amarjeet Bhagat met Union Minister of Food, Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution Ram Vilas Paswan in New Delhi on Thursday. Chhattisgarh Food Department Secretary Kamalpreet Singh, MARKFED Managing Director Shammi Abidi and other officers were also present there.
 
Chhattisgarh Food and Civil Supplies Minister Bhagat apprised the Union Minister of initiatives taken by the Chhattisgarh government towards fight against malnutrition, uplifting the living standard of the people and reducing poverty. Bhagat also informed Ram Vilas Paswan that the state government has increased the MSP of paddy to Rs 2500 paddy per quintal and the decision has strengthened the economic status of farmers. He also drew the Union Minister’s attention towards allocations required by the state government.
