Mayor-in-Council (MiC) on Saturday cleared three agendas while one was rejected as the Councilors held a meeting at RMC Headquarters. There are 176 gardens under the RMC limits, out of which only 47 have proper lighting arrangements. MiC accepted the proposal for installation of energy-saving LED lights in remaining gardens instead of traditional ones.

MiC sanctioned Rs 79,41,140 for the project. They also cleared the proposal for renewal of lease of Hotel Barkha at Azaad Market, Station Road. The hotel has 12 rooms on the first floor and 12 on the second and it was auctioned in 1980 to Giridharilal Agrawal for Rs 2.15 lakhs and on a monthly rent of Rs 8500 for three years. On December 24, 2018, the hotel was sealed, but was again allotted to Agrawal on January 15, 2019, after he obtained stay order from the Court. MIC also gave nod to the proposal for installation of statue of freedom fighter late Nagardas Babariya and to name the Civil Lines ward and a road from Dr Shrivastava chowk to Rajbhawan after him.
