The proposed Bhopal-Indore Expressway is designed in such a manner that many traffic-related problems will get solved automatically and figures of accident would also come down drastically. This expressway will also lessen the time of travel as vehicles on this route will move in hassle-free manner. The expressway path will be a barricaded path with limited entry points. No stray cattle would be able to find its way into the path of expressway. What is good thing that Bhopal-Indore Expressway is being realised in speedy manner. Work of acquiring land for project has already commenced. Once this process is completed then work on other aspects of projects will be started.

The sources in Madhya Pradesh Road Development Corporation (MPRDC) told that 1500 hectare land is required for the project which is first of its kind in entire Madhya Pradesh. A whopping sum of Rs 530 crore has been earmarked for land acquisition process. The cost of entire project is over Rs 5,000 crore. A senior officer connected with the project told ‘The Hitavada’ that there will be only seven entry points in the entire pathway of Bhopal-Indore Expressway.

These entry points will be at Kolar, Mandideep, Ashta etc. Hence, only at these entry points, people would be able to board and disembark the vehicles. In other words vehicles, including buses, will stop only at authorised bus stops. The limited entry points will help in reducing the travelling time of vehicles. The land acquisition process for Bhopal Expressway has to be completed by December 31. The entire project is to be completed by December 2022. Once this project is over then Government will be paying attention on Chambal Expressway project. Chief Engineer of Madhya Pradesh Road Development Corporation, Ashutosh Mishra told ‘The Hitavada’ that for Bhopal-Indore Expressway project, land acquisition work has commenced and once the project is ready then many traffic-related problems will end automatically. For instance, the entire path will be free from stray cattle.
