Heavy rains inundate low-lying areas of State capital

 Heavy rains brought flood-like situation in slum near Sarvadharam Pul locality in Kolar.

Owing to incessant rainfall, many parts of Bhopal battled with water-logging on Monday. Rainwater was flowing on roads and vehicle riders faced lot of problem in riding their vehicles. Many two wheeler riders fell down after they could not see pothole due to flowing rain water or lost their balance. The worst situation was in slums situated in low-lying areas.
 
Dirty rain water gushed inside the slums, creating havoc like situation among slum dwellers. The waist deep water was seen in slums situated on the bank of Sarvadharam culvert. The water was flowing by touching the walls of slums. Likewise, old city also faced water-logging. The water-loggig problem was reported in Shahjehanabad area, Aishbhagh area, Nishatpura, Cholla area, Gautam Nagar, Laxmi talkies road. Loha Bazar, Khabadkhana area, Nariyalkheda area etc. The water-logged roads created lot of inconvenience to pedestrians as well as vehicle riders.
 
Many people were seen draining out the rainwater which gushed inside their homes. As rains are battering State capital from last couple of days and owing to this reason, water logging is giving nightmares to people living in low lying areas. Now, people are seen praying for almighty to stop the rains which have broken the records of last many years. The overflowing drains and water filled roads are also exposing the tall claims of Bhopal Municipal Corporation that necessary pre-monsoon arrangement was done
