Vijay Nagar police apprehend 5 thieves

Police retrieved stolen jewellery and cash from five habitual thieves.

Vijay Nagar police nabbed the five accused involved in several theft incidents and retrieved stolen valuables amounting to Rs 9 lakh from them. The accused have been identified as Vikas alias Vicky Rajak (25), son of Ghanshyam Raja, resident of New Green City in Madhotal, Deepu alias Pradeep Vishwakarma (24), son of late Satyanarayan, of Cherital in Kotwali, Rahul alias Mowgli Patel (21), son of late Ramprasad Patel of Ujarpurva in Lordganj, Lalla alias Krishna Yadav (29), son of late Rajkumar Yadav of Temar Bhita in Gora Bazar and Shekh Sen (26), son of Gaurishankar Sen, resident of Temar Bhita in Gora Bazar.
One of the accused Vikas alias Vicky Rajak is a habitual criminal and around 30 cases of theft and other crime cases against him are under consideration before the court. Superintendent of Police, Amit Singh (IPS) disclosed this while addressing a press conference, on Monday. It may be noted that under the direction of SP, Amit Singh, police have started a special campaign against anti-social elements and listed criminals under the supervision of Additional SP (South), Dr. Sanjeev Uike and CSP, Garha, Amit Tolani (IPS). During the campaign, police received information about some suspected men sight at Scheme Number-41 and planning to sell out stolen valuables.
Taking prompt action on the information, a police team was constituted for further investigation and apprehending the suspected men. Police team led by SHO of Vijay Nagar police station, U S Soni started a search and succeeded in trapping the five suspected men. In their interrogation, the accused broke out and confessed several theft incidents in Vijay Nagar and Gora Bazar areas. On their identification, police have retrieved two pairs of gold bangles, a gold bracelet, two gold chains, two pairs of gold tops, a pair of gold rings, seven gold rings, a gold coin, a gold locket, 18 pairs of anklets, other silver jewelleries and cash of Rs. 1.65 lakh, a laptop, one LCD television, three mobile handsets and a motorcycle amounting to Rs 9 lakh from them.
Thieves were apprehended with active working of police team led by SHO, US Soni comprised of SI, Lalji Dubey, SI, Abhishek Kaithwas, Constables, Vinay Singh, Shailendra, Balram, Gora Bazar sub-police station, in-charge, SI, Nirupama Pandey, Crime Branch’s ASI, Ramsnehi Sharma, Constables, Ajit Patel, Anil Sharma, Rajesh Kewat, Gyanendra Pathak, Sadiq Ali, Radheshyam, Bramhprakash and Cyber Cell’s Constable, Nitin Joshi.
